Reduced Credit Information
Timeline of Events:
July 1, 2007:
Circleville City Residents: The City of Circleville Council passed legislation reducing the residence tax credit from 100% to 50%. All wages earned after July 1, 2007 in a taxing municipality outside of Circleville are subject to the reduced tax credit of 50%.
July 2, 2007:
Regional Income Tax Agency sent notices to all employers to inform them of the 50% reduced credit for the City of Circleville residents effective 7-1-07. A copy of the letter is included as page 2 of the information below in the Reduced Credit Info & Notices pdf.
First week of September 2007:
Regional Income Tax Agency sent notices to ALL ACTIVE City of Circleville individual/taxpayer accounts regarding the 50% reduced credit. A copy of the letter is included as page 3 of the information below in the Reduced Credit Info & Notices pdf.
Second and third week of September 2007:
Regional Income Tax Agency evaluated all City of Circleville active individual/taxpayer accounts to determine if indivudals have a tax liability because of the 50% reduced credit based on their 2006 tax returns.
Last week of September 2007:
Regional Income Tax Agency mailed 3rd Quarter Billing Statements to all individuals/taxpayers that will have a tax liability because of the 50% reduced credit based on their 2006 tax returns. An example of a 3rd Quarter Billing Statement is included below in the Reduced Credit Info & Notices pdf.
Last week of December 2007:
The Regional Income Tax Agency will mail 4th Quarter Billing Statements.
City of Circleville Notice Attempts: Notice on water bills in June, Circleville Herald articles, CGTV5, City of Circleville web site, and several City Council Meetings.
